Blurin (“we,” “our,” or “the app”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how Blurin handles your information when you use our face masking application for iOS.

Our Core Promise: Your photos and face detection data never leave your device. Purchase-related information is handled only as needed to manage Blurin Pro access, as described below.

Information We Do NOT Collect

Blurin is designed with privacy as a fundamental principle. Except for purchase-related information described in this Policy, we do NOT collect, store, or share:

• ❌ Your photos or images
• ❌ Facial recognition data or biometric information
• ❌ Location data or GPS coordinates
• ❌ EXIF metadata from your photos
• ❌ Personal identification information
• ❌ Usage analytics, behavioral tracking, or advertising data
• ❌ Advertising IDs
• ❌ Any content you create within the app

How Blurin Works

1. Photo Processing (100% On-Device)

• Face Detection: Blurin uses Apple’s Vision framework to detect faces in your photos. This processing happens entirely on your device using Apple’s on-device machine learning technology.
• No Cloud Processing: Your photos are never uploaded to our servers or any third-party services.
• Local Storage: All edited photos and processing data are stored exclusively in your device’s local storage (app sandbox).

2. Metadata Removal

Blurin automatically removes the following metadata from exported images to protect your privacy:

• EXIF Data: Camera model, settings, software information
• GPS Coordinates: Location data embedded in photos
• Personal Information: Any embedded metadata that could identify you

Only the image orientation is preserved to ensure proper display.

3. Photo Library Access

• Permission Required: Blurin requests permission to access your Photo Library solely to allow you to:
  • Import photos for face masking
  • Save edited photos back to your Photo Library
• Limited Use: We only access photos you explicitly select within the app
• No Background Access: Blurin does not access your Photo Library in the background or scan your entire library

Data Storage

Local Storage Only

All data created by Blurin is stored locally on your device:

• Document Storage: Edited photos and masking configurations
• History: Edit history for undo/redo functionality
• Presets: Your saved masking style presets
• Settings: App preferences and configuration

Data Retention

• User Control: You can delete any document, history entry, or preset at any time through the app’s interface
• Automatic Cleanup: The app automatically manages storage by keeping only the 10 most recent documents (configurable)
• Uninstallation: All app data is completely removed when you uninstall Blurin from your device

Purchase and Payment Information

Handled by Apple and RevenueCat

If you subscribe to Blurin Pro or purchase Blurin Pro Lifetime:

• Payment Processing: All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store
• Purchase Management: We use RevenueCat to validate purchases, manage entitlements, and restore access to Blurin Pro
• What We Receive: We receive purchase status information such as whether you have an active Pro entitlement
• What We Don’t See: Credit card numbers, billing addresses, or any personal payment information

Purchase Data

• Local Storage: Your purchase status (Free/Pro) is stored locally on your device
• Restoration: When you restore purchases, we verify your purchase status with Apple and RevenueCat
• Information Used for Purchase Management: RevenueCat may process an anonymous app user identifier, product identifiers, purchase history, transaction/receipt validation information, entitlement status, country/region, currency, and related purchase metadata
• Purpose: This information is used only to provide Pro access, restore purchases, prevent entitlement loss, troubleshoot purchase issues, and comply with App Store purchase requirements
• No Photo Data: Photos, face detection data, edited images, presets, and masking configurations are not sent to RevenueCat

Third-Party Services

Services We Use

Blurin uses Apple’s native frameworks and RevenueCat for purchase management:

• Vision Framework: For on-device face detection
• Core Image: For image processing and masking effects
• StoreKit 2: For App Store purchase integration
• PhotosUI: For photo library access
• Core Data: For local data storage
• RevenueCat: For purchase validation, entitlement management, and purchase restoration

No Behavioral Analytics or Advertising

• ✅ No Behavioral Analytics Services: We do not use Google Analytics, Firebase, or similar services to analyze user behavior
• ✅ No Advertising Networks: We do not display ads or use ad tracking
• ✅ No Crash Reporting: We do not use third-party crash reporting tools
• ✅ No Social Media SDKs: No Facebook, Twitter, or other social media integrations
• ✅ No Tracking by RevenueCat: RevenueCat is used for purchase management only, not advertising or behavioral tracking

Children’s Privacy

Blurin does not knowingly collect photos, face data, edited content, or behavioral tracking data from children under the age of 13. The app can be used by users of all ages. However, in-app purchases require parental permission as per Apple’s App Store guidelines, and purchase-related information may be processed by Apple and RevenueCat as described above.

Data Security

While we do not collect your data, we implement security measures to protect data stored locally on your device:

• App Sandbox: All data is stored in the app’s secure sandbox container
• Encryption: iOS automatically encrypts all app data when your device is locked (if you have a device passcode enabled)
• Face ID/Touch ID: You can optionally enable device authentication for app access (if implemented in settings)

Your Privacy Rights

Since Blurin does not collect photos, face data, or app content, traditional data rights for that content do not apply. For purchase-related information handled through Apple or RevenueCat, you may contact us and we will assist where applicable. In all cases:

• ✅ Full Control: You have complete control over all photos and data within the app
• ✅ Local Deletion: You can delete any document or data at any time
• ✅ No Tracking: You cannot be tracked or profiled through the app
• ✅ Export Freedom: All edited photos can be exported to your Photo Library without restrictions

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do:

• The “Last Updated” date at the top will be revised
• Significant changes will be communicated through the app or App Store release notes
• Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy

Legal Compliance

GDPR Compliance (European Union)

Blurin is designed to minimize personal data processing:

• Photos, face detection data, and edited content are processed only on-device
• Purchase-related information is processed only as needed to provide and restore Pro access
• We do not use purchase information for advertising or tracking

CCPA Compliance (California)

Blurin does not sell personal information and does not use personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Purchase-related information is used only to provide and manage paid access.

Japan APPI Compliance

Blurin is designed with Japan’s Act on the Protection of Personal Information (APPI) in mind:

• Photos and face detection data are not retained by us or transmitted off-device
• Face detection processing is on-device and temporary
• Purchase-related information is used only to provide and manage paid access
