If you are stuck, start with Settings → Support → How to use in the App. “Try a sample photo” there lets you practise on an example photo.
Hiding faces
A face is not found, or some faces stay visible
- Set Settings → Face → Detection mode to “High accuracy” to find small faces in group photos and faces seen from the side more reliably (it is free).
- Anything still visible can be hidden with Trace at the bottom of the screen: trace over it with your finger.
- Automatic detection is not perfect. Always check that everything you want hidden is hidden before you share.
Leave one person unhidden
In Face, tap a face in the row below the photo to take that person’s mask off. Tap it again to put it back.
Move or resize a mask
Tap a mask on the photo to select it. Drag inside it to move it, drag a corner to resize it, and drag the dotted circle to rotate it.
Blurring the background
Keep people sharp and blur only the background
Choose Background at the bottom of the screen. Blurin tells the people from the background and blurs the background. The first time for each photo, this takes a few seconds.
Change how much is blurred
The higher you raise the slider on the left, the more strongly distant areas are blurred. While your finger is on the slider, the area that will be blurred is shown in red. Adjusting by depth is a Blurin Pro feature. To fix small areas, trace with the Blur and Keep brushes.
Saving and sharing
Where are my saved photos?
In the Photos app on your iPhone. The screen that appears after saving also has a Share button, so you can send the photo straight to LINE, Instagram and other apps.
What size are saved photos?
Free, photos are saved at up to 2,048 pixels on the long edge — plenty for social media. With Blurin Pro they are saved at their original quality.
Is the location removed?
Yes. When you save or share, the location (GPS), the date and time and the camera details are removed automatically.
Photos disappeared from the App
Blurin’s Home keeps up to 10 recent photos; when you open an 11th, the oldest is removed automatically. Photos you saved to the Photos app are not affected.
Purchases and Blurin Pro
Restore a purchase (new iPhone or reinstall)
Go to Settings → Plan and tap “Restore Purchase”. You need to be signed in with the Apple Account you bought it with.
Cancel a subscription
On your iPhone, go to Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Blurin. Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription. Cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the period to stop the next renewal.
Ask for a refund
Refunds are handled by Apple. Request one at Apple’s Report a Problem.
Use Pro with my family
With plans that support Family Sharing, members of your Family Sharing group can use Pro too. Whether a plan supports it is shown on the App Store purchase sheet before you buy.
Devices and privacy
Which devices are supported?
iPhone with iOS 18 or later. iPad is not supported.
Are my photos sent anywhere?
No. Photos are processed entirely on your iPhone and never leave it. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Contact
If this does not help, email blurin.support@icloud.com. Including the following helps us answer faster:
- your iPhone model and iOS version
- the Blurin version (shown in Settings → About)
- what happened, and what you did just before
There is no need to send photos. If you do, send only ones you are comfortable sharing.
